The body of work in this section gives the interested conductor, ensemble or music enthusiast a glimpse of the method and style behind the four orchestral pieces Undulations, Meridian, Ephemera, and Periphery. Another work, Orchestral Environment, written in a similar manner, is listed in the Complete Works section. All of these works are available for performance by professional or university-level orchestras.

In the title page of Undulations the individual tempi for each instrument of the orchestra are listed. The conductor also performs in a separate tempo, which the instrumentalists refer to for their cues, and while they are at rest.

On page 45 of Undulations, the conductor tempo is represented in the top line. Cue 4a brings in the timpani and bass drum, (clarinet, bassoon, horn and trumpet are carried over from the previous page) cue 5a brings in the violins, cue 1b brings in oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and trumpet, and cue 2b brings in the cellos and basses. All cueing by the conductor is done in this manner in this group of compositions.
